IC INFO;

CHARACTER NAME: Rion Kugayama
AGE: 17
CANON: Tokyo Xanadu
CANON POINT: The end of the game, right before the True Ending.
HISTORY: Tokyo Xanadu and Rion, but these are pretty sparse, so here's additional information!

The events of the game take place in Morimiya, a fictional town in Tokyo, in 2015. Ten years ago, there was a huge disaster and a lot of people lost their lives. Flashing forward to the present, a series of supernatural phenomena are starting to occur with increasing regularity, i.e. fairy tale books coming to life, technology going haywire, and "gates" appearing around people with strong emotions that then drag them into different, dungeon-like areas known as Eclipses. Eclipses are full of monsters known as Greeds, with the stronger ones being called Elder Greeds and the rare but even more dangerous ones called Grim Greeds. Normal weapons don't tend to work on them, so only those who can wield "Soul Devices" (the strength of their soul given a tangible weapon form) can fight them.

In the typical anime way, some poor guy gets dragged into the realm of the crazy and manifests his Soul Device, partnering with a girl from an organization that's trying to keep all the crazy away from civilians in order to protect the town while learning more about why all of this is happening. He then collects a posse of people who either also get dragged into this through association or have known about this all along.

In Rion's case, she was one of the victims of the aforementioned disaster and was already near the point of death when she was rushed into surgery. Not wanting to die, her strong desire was answered by an angelic-like Grim Greed, who possessed her and saved her life (and apparently wrecked the whole room in the process). Rion didn't remember this for ten years, until all the crazy stuff started happening, and her angelic possession reared its angelic head by having technological things around her start to go wonky. At one point, it possessed her entirely, and she wound up manifesting wings and singing creepily and summoning a Greed until she collapsed and was taken to the hospital. Wheeeere she was forcibly made to remember what had happened ten years ago and the possession happened again and this time the hospital itself became merged with an Eclipse.

Long story short, Rion blamed herself for dragging people into this mess, all because she hadn't wanted to die, until she got a rude pep talk from the protagonist and came to realize that she was better than that, so she got a Soul Device, joined the fight, and calmed the angel down enough to let it repossess her with the confidence that she could control it better this time. And then the rest is shenanigans and dealing with the craziness of the Eclipses merging with the outside world.

PERSONALITY: With a five-member idol group, there tends to be something like typecasting. Someone is the cool one, someone is the cute one, etc. Rion comes across as the "flirt" of SPiKA, and owns it confidently. She doesn't bother to hide who she is at school, and even gets offended when Kou doesn't know who she is at first. Acting cute and coy seems to be her way of life, and she especially enjoys teasing Kou, getting him into hot water with her fans by wording things rather scandalously and joking about him using her as a dress-up doll. She's known for being coquettish, and she hardly minds it.

The actual Rion is a hard-working girl who wants to be the kind of idol who can inspire others to dream and go for those dreams. Having been pulled from the depths of depression by an idol performance, she's spent ten years dedicating herself to her own dream of becoming one such person. While she acts playful and carefree, she throws herself into lessons and goes to karaoke during her off hours to improve her vocal abilities even more. She has a bit of rivalry with the other two senior members in order to see who gets the right to be the center, but she's also the first to drop everything and run to their aid if something goes wrong.

Rion can falter at times, or hide how she's really feeling when she's troubled by something. She also has a habit of taking matters into her own hands and masking her strain with a smile. Knowing that she's holding back when performing and realizing that her singing might actually be dangerous to those around her, she ditches practice, lies about it, and doesn't respond to anyone contacting her while she secludes herself in an abandoned warehouse to rehearse there. Kou, she admits, is the first person outside of the other four members of SpiKA to hear about her past-- which says a lot about her, that Rion keeps one of her most important defining moments under wraps. She tends to struggle against tears when she's relieved or upset, and blames herself for putting everyone's lives at risk, due to her possession, even going so far as to state that it might have been better if she'd died instead. She's a caring person who hates inconveniencing others and risks being crippled by this knowledge before being reminded that, just as she's supported others with her words, she's also not alone-- which is exactly the kind of push she needs to get back on her feet.

Of course, Rion's not quite at the point where she can be completely honest with others. Kou tends to fluster her a lot, and she'll yell when she's embarrassed, rather than admit to it. When he comes to save her at two different times, Rion's reaction is to either (tearily) grumble at him or (tearily) call him out for trying to act cool. It's not unusual for her to act sassy with those who know how she really is.

But most importantly, Rion is strong. Well aware of what people say about her, calling her a slut, she says simply that she's gotten used to it and it just inspires her to turn those people into fans as well. Minutes after being told she's nothing more than a sacrifice and that idols are really nothing that great, Rion comes back swinging and insists that she'll show her opponent just how strong an idol's will can be. It's her bravery and understanding of the Grim Greed's fear that allows her to calm it down during a berserk rampage and welcome it back within her. After being hospitalized, having her very being at risk, and involving herself in fighting monsters, she still has enough drive to make it to her anniversary concert at the very last minute in order to perform-- she wants to answer to her fans and her fellow idols. She even saves the man who put her through hell and informs him that she'll make him eat his words because he's going to go to a concert to see her perform and then he'll have to take back everything he said about idols-- and she fully believes every word she tells him.

Because she's an idol and she will bring hope to people.

CANON POWERS: Rion has the ability to manifest the power of her soul via her Xiphone (basically a cellphone), which takes the form of a pair of metallic-looking wings on her back known as Seraphim Layer. She can use them to fly, of course, but can also whip up cyclones and shock waves with them and fire lasers. Her abilities in action can be seen here!

She also possesses the power of an Angelic Grim Greed inside of her, which has shown itself a few times before as technology going haywire and the occasional Eclipse forming due to her influence. If the Greed takes her over, it can drag large areas into an Eclipse and would have, if left unchecked, turned Rion into a kin: a lesser monster, more or less.

However, Rion has pretty much subdued the Greed (by singing to it, okay) and while that power remains inside of her (as trying to remove it would kill her), there's a good chance of her keeping it under control going forward.

OTHER:

GAME INFO;

CRAU INFO: N/A
MAGIC ABILITY: Wing manifestation. They'll start off relatively small, and Rion will only be able to fly for short periods of time at first, as it'll also give her terrible backaches. The more she uses them, though, the longer she'll be able to fly with less pain, and they'll eventually grow larger.
ANY WEAPONS/MAGICAL ITEMS?: Technically, her Xiphone might count as a weapon, since she used it to summon her soul device?? Otherwise it's just your basic phone with the typical apps you'd expect.
ANY PETS?: Nope!
