[ this is a very strangled-sounding squeak, and Rion nearly jerks to the side out of sheer surprise, although realizing that would mean Akira's head clunking gracelessly on the bench means she stays put just in time. ]

[purrtagonist]

[she. . . just might. . . feel the slow curve of a smile grow against her shoulder, followed by a muffled, groggy]

Rain check.

[ ... This punk. ]

I can't believe you... just how long have you been awake??

[purrtagonist]

[a breathless laugh, and he still doesn't lift his head from her shoulder]

I was never asleep.

[flyingsolos]

[ She's just going to reach over and across to flick him on the forehead, since he's so nice and close now. ]

[purrtagonist]

[aapoisdop hey! but even that isn't enough to get him to lift his head; he just rubs his forehead with two fingers and. . . pouts. kind of]

Hey. . . you said I had a week.

[flyingsolos]

Yeah. To let me know, not to sneak-attack me with it.

[ Though she still also hasn't moved. ]

[purrtagonist]

[. . . he might be curling up next to her side a little more than what is strictly necessary for someone resting his head on her shoulder. aha]

But I'm sneaky by nature. I can't deny my true self.

[flyingsolos]

... [ a sigh that's more amused than aggravated as she leans back against the wall, likely bringing Akira with her. If she's going to let him snag her shoulder, she might as well settle in and valiantly not think about how it feels like he's slightly cuddling. ]

I'm not going to sit here forever, you know. Sure you want to spend your pillow time talking?

Depends. How much pillow time do I get?

An hour, if I'm feeling nice.

On a scale of one to ten, how nice are you feeling?

I'm tempted to lop off fifteen minutes.

[ Ah, friendship. ]

[purrtagonist]

Forty-five, then.

[HM]

Yeah, I'll sleep.

[despite his teasing, he is pretty tired. he further adds--]

If it gets uncomfortable, just shove me away.

[flyingsolos]

As long as you don't dig your chin in my shoulder, this isn't all that bad.

[ Rather-- ]

If you get too uncomfortable, let me know.

Mmm. . .

[okay, despite his sass, it sounds like his exhaustion is catching up to him. he's cozy and comfortable, and Rion is warm, so. . .]

[it doesn't take him too long to drift off]

[ Well. She likes to think she's better than just slumping against the wall, but Akira's already asleep when she thinks to be sassy about it.

Which is fine. She'll stay still and let him sleep-- for a lot longer than forty-five minutes, as it turns out. ]

[purrtagonist]

[thankfully for Rion, who is probably extremely bored by now, Akira doesn't sleep much longer than forty-five minutse]

[by the time he jolts awake, inhaling sharply as the world suddenly comes back into focus, he's pretty much slumped bonelessly against her side. he pushes himself up immediately thought, stifling a yawn as he scrubs at one eye]

[ Ordinarily, yes. She'd be extremely bored.

However, Rion, in her quest to be a good, unmoving pillow and also due to a variety of factors that mostly involve dealing with a ton of dust storms and hauling heavy robots back to the station-- is not awake at the moment.

It's impossible to tell just when she'd drifted off, but as soon as Akira shoots upright, she immediately sags to the side. ]

[Akira is aware enough to realize she's slumping, and one hand shoots out to catch her by the shoulder so she doesn't, you know. flop uncomfortably onto the bench. or wake up! he blinks at her groggily a few times, even though all he can really see is the crown of her head, covered in pink hair as it is. there's a moment's pause, before. . .]

[purrtagonist]

[. . . he smiles. a tiny, soft thing, surprisingly warm and fond compared to his usual mischievous grins and sharp smirks. he lets out a silent, breathless huff, and shifts to lay her head on his shoulder next. his own thunks up against the wall, eyes slipping shut]

[if she's still asleep, then he might as well repay the favor. right?]

[flyingsolos]

[ All of the shifting and movement makes her stir-- but for no longer than a second, and Rion isn't even registering what's going on beyond feeling a sense of warmth and comfort. Kind of like a pillow, so she instinctively nuzzles into it and with no more than a small, drowsy murmur, falls right back into total unconsciousness.

Sorry, Akira. Give her another hour. ]

[it's cool, he's drifting off again, too. this time with his cheek pillowed against the top of her head. cozy. . .]

[sure hope someone doesn't walk in on them like this]

[wow what would be the odds of that.

That is, Kou's definitely not meaning to walk in on them, but sometimes you've got a teammate who's been missing for a bit, and while Kou's not really the sort to shoot her a lot of messages or fret overly much...he's definitely looking for her? Of course he is.

It's just.

That he wasn't expecting to walk in on this.]

He-- [...y.......... Hey.....

Never mind.

He cuts himself off abruptly, mouth opening and then closing, eyebrow arching. Well then!! Rion told him about her crush, but it seems like things are going well on that front? Probably? This seems pretty crush-like to him, if he had to say.]

[ Amazingly enough, Rion still doesn't stir. Give her a minute, maybe, or keep talking, Kou.

But there she is, your teammate, safe and sound and pillowed. It's better than the floor. It's much better than the floor. ]
